I Love My Mop!
•
As a homeowner, I’m always on the lookout for ways to make daily tasks more efficient. If a tool can help streamline my routine or make life easier, I’m all for it.
My Most Used Household Tool: The Bissell Crosswave
In 2021, I discovered the Bissell Crosswave (click here to view on Amazon) and immediately added it to my wishlist. I like to save items I’m interested in but don’t necessarily need right away, and the wishlist feature helps me keep track of potential purchases. I usually wait for a price drop, as it’s an easy way to monitor deals while budgeting for future needs.
We used the Bissell Crosswave for several years, and it quickly became indispensable in our home. With six people living under one roof and a 1,600-square-foot area to maintain, I found myself mopping at least once a week, if not more frequently, to keep up with everyday messes, spills, and dirt. The beauty of the Crosswave is that it both vacuums and mops simultaneously, making cleaning more efficient and less time-consuming.
Upgrade to the Hydrosteam Version
After two years of heavy use, we upgraded to the Hydrosteam version (click here to view on Amazon) of the Bissell Crosswave. This model adds the option to steam mop, which is a game-changer for us. We have four kids, a dog that loves to fetch, and a house where shoes are worn indoors—meaning spills and muddy paw prints are a regular occurrence. Although we don’t have carpet, the Crosswave’s versatile design allows it to function as both a vacuum and a mop, making it effective for hard floors as well as area rugs. I mean this is just a small part of ALL the floor to mop.

One of the features I particularly appreciate is the simultaneous vacuuming and mopping function. However, it’s important to note that I’ve accidentally sucked up a few phone cords when I’ve gotten too close. Thankfully, this is easy to fix—simply remove the brush cover, retrieve the cord, and you’re back in business with no damage done.
Easy Maintenance and Cleaning
The Crosswave makes cleaning and maintenance simple. It includes a self-cleaning mode that automatically cleans the tanks, reducing the need for manual intervention. Additionally, the floor brushes are removable, allowing for easy rinsing and drying. The internal filter can also be removed and cleaned as needed. Occasionally, I’ll rinse the filter with a garden hose, ensuring I avoid getting the motor area wet. I’ve found that the components of the Crosswave are well-designed, with removable parts that help keep it in top working condition.
Why I Recommend the Bissell Crosswave
For those looking to save time on their cleaning routine, the Bissell Crosswave is a fantastic solution. It eliminates the need for traditional hand mopping, which not only saves time but also reduces physical strain. (If you’ve ever had back pain from bending and slouching while mopping, you’ll appreciate this product!) Its dual functionality as a vacuum and mop, combined with its ease of use and maintenance, makes it an excellent investment for households that need efficient cleaning.
